Docent Opportunity

The Hammond-Harwood House in downtown Annapolis is looking for docents to serve as guides at our 18th & 19th century decorative arts house museum. The museum has an exemplary collection of fine and decorative arts including 21 pieces of John Shaw furniture and 16 Peale family paintings. This national treasure also features some of the nation’s premier architecture of the colonial period.

Guides are expected to work at least three 5 hour shifts per month. This a wonderful opportunity for interested individuals to share their love of history and decorative arts with the public.

Docent training is held in the spring and fall. If interested please e-mail our Curator, Rachel Lovett, at Rachel@hammondharwoodhouse.org . Please note once a training class has commenced we will not take on new candidates half way through.
