In the second program of the Art and Wellness Series, Stretch and Sketch, you will:
- Look and discuss a painting of George Washington by Rembrandt Peale.
- Choose a painting in the museum’s first floor and sketch while discussing drawing techniques (materials provided.)
- Do a stretching session in the garden with breathing techniques to help promote good posture and relieve stress.
Megan Houst will be guiding a gentle yoga flow, accessible for all-levels. The practice will be focused to help students tap into their creativity, and connect deeper with mind, body, and soul. Please dress comfortably, bring a mat or a towel and any other props that you use to honor your practice.
In 2020, Megan completed her 200-hour yoga teacher training with Blue Lotus Yoga Studio. Through the training, Megan learned more about herself, and what she wanted to share with others through the practice of yoga. She hopes to instill confidence and mindfulness into her students both on and off their mats through breath work, meditation, creative flows, and self-love.
