Join in the holiday festivities with an open house at the Hammond-Harwood House. Since 1953, the area’s garden clubs have created festive floral designs appropriate to the room’s architecture and collection. Early Americans did not celebrate Christmas Day as we do today, as it was associated to the pagan holiday of winter solstice, but the twelve days following Christmas Day included many celebrations and festivities. This year’s floral theme is dedicated to the traditional song, The Twelve Days of Christmas.
