America 250 – Reading of the Declaration of Independence

A nationwide event to honor the 250th anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence, which occurred on July 8, 1775.

Americans in all 50 states and the District of Columbia will read the Declaration of Independence simultaneously at 6 p.m. E.T.

Read with us in front of the Hammond-Harwood House at 6 p.m. Copies of the Declaration of Independence will be handed out beginning at 5:45 p.m., while supplies last.
