In the historic open hearth kitchen of Hammond-Harwood House, Joyce White, author of “Cooking Maryland’s Way: Voices of a Diverse Cuisine,” will discuss the Black cooks who developed and prepared the signature dishes of early Maryland. She will be available to sign copies of her book. Time 1-4 p.m.
Historian Willa Banks, an authority on early Maryland Black history and culture, will speak about the enslaved at Hammond-Harwood House and the African American influence on the cuisine of the early 19th century family at Hammond-Harwood House. Time 2 p.m.
