Celebrating Women’s History Month: Lydia Maria Child
Online Lecture presented by Barbara Goyette, Hammond-Harwood House Director
Lydia Maria Child (1802-1880) was an early parenting and housekeeping influencer who became a forceful advocate for abolition, Native American rights, and women’s rights.
For Women’s History Month, this lecture will focus on her turn to activism and how she used her talents as a novelist and her astute political sense to put forward her ideas.
