THE 7:00 PM SHOW HAS SOLD OUT. WAIT LIST REGISTRATION OPEN HERE
Join us for the 10th anniversary of our candlelit Twelfth Night concert, a program that revives the seasonal music and poetry that once filled Annapolis homes during the Twelve Days of Christmas. This cherished tradition opens the nation’s 250th anniversary year with selections that reflect the elegance, humor, and midwinter festivities of the early Republic.
Fireside Revelry conjures the warmth and playful spirit of Annapolis’s historic parlors through a curated blend of vocal and instrumental works from the British Isles and early America, interwoven with toasts and seasonal verse. This seasonal concert offers a vivid glimpse into the refinement and conviviality that shaped early American music-making.
The performance features Empressa Ensemble, led by soprano Elissa Edwards, praised for her “glistening tone” (Early Music America). She is joined by internationally acclaimed violinist Shelby Yamin, whose performances span venues from Mount Vernon to Versailles; fortepianist Dr. Joyce Wei-Jo Chen, an award-winning scholar-performer and faculty artist at the University of Oregon; and orator Katrina Atsinger, an Oxford-trained poet who is on the faculty of the Naval Academy.
Come welcome the new year with a spirited Twelfth Night celebration in the historic ballroom!
A pre-concert wine and cheese reception will be offered at 6:00 pm. The concert will start at 7:00 pm.
