In 1825 Mrs. Frances Loockerman decided to create a very special boxwood garden behind her mansion on Maryland Avenue. The romantic “box walk” was planted in the shape of a heart. Since 1953, the museum’s many volunteers have made special holiday boxwood creations and all proceeds benefit the collection and mission of the Hammond-Harwood House. Decorate your home for the holidays with our festive Boxwood Collection, including wreaths and centerpieces crafted from boxwood grown in the historic Hammond-Harwood House garden!
