Participants enjoy a 60-minute guided tour of the house that compares the customs and social graces of the Loockerman family, who lived in the Hammond-Harwood House in the early 19th century, with those of characters in Jane Austen’s novels.
Following the tour, participants are encouraged to stay and discuss Jane Austen’s book Persuasion. The discussion will be led by Mike Parker, professor emeritus of the USNA English Department, and Board Member of the Hammond-Harwood House.
