Mansions and Merchants

In 1811, Frances Loockerman moved into the Hammond-Harwood House with her husband and three children. Over the next 46 years, she saw the neighborhood transform. On this walking tour of Maryland Avenue, led by Hammond-Harwood House Curator, Lucinda Dukes Edinberg, we will visit places Frances would have known, note changes she would have been aware of, and fill in the streetscape she could not have imagined.
