In celebration of the women who shaped the early American republic, this concert spotlights the music associated with the wives, daughters, and salon hosts of America’s founding leaders.
Participants will enjoy a 60-minute guided tour of the house that compares the customs and social graces of the Loockerman family, who lived in the Hammond-Harwood House in the early 19th century, with those of characters in Jane Austen novels.
This walking tour with Hammond-Harwood House Curator, Lucinda Dukes Edinberg, will focus on the businesses, and the history of homes and their owners on Maryland Avenue between the late 18th century and mid-19th century.
